Doctoral Consortium – July 10, 2013, Wednesday

General Information

This year’s ISMS Doctoral Consortium event will be held on July 10, 2013, Wednesday  from 8 am to 5 pm at Ozyegin University, Istanbul. The Doctoral Consortium is organized by INFORMS Society for Marketing Science as an annual event to provide a unique opportunity for doctoral students to build a successful academic career in their field by developing their research ideas, learning about the challenges of conducting research in marketing, and broadening their professional networks. The format of the Consortium will feature a plenary and several breakout sessions, as well as various opportunities for professional dialogues and social networking. The most suitable candidates for the Consortium are marketing Ph.D. students who have completed their course work, and are in the dissertation stage of their programs. While all such candidates will be considered, in selection we will emphasize quality and diversity. A tentative program and a list of faculty panelists will be made available on May 17, 2013.

Doctoral Consortium Registration

The Doctoral Consortium is open only to students who have been nominated by their home institution. Accepted nominees will receive an invitation to register for the Consortium from the INFORMS Society for Marketing Science by Monday April 1, 2013.To attend the Consortium, accepted nominees must register and pay the Consortium fee by Monday April 15, 2013. Students participating in the doctoral consortium are also required to register for the conference and pay the student registration rate.
Each school can nominate up to two students for the ISMS Doctoral Consortium. Nominations can be made by any faculty member at the school and are due by Monday, March 25, 2013. Nominations should be emailed by the nominating faculty to dcregistration@ozyegin.edu.tr

Please include the following information in all nominations.
1. Name, School and Email address of nominating faculty member.

2. Name, Email address and Expected Graduation Date of nominated student.

3. A brief statement of support for the student’s nomination.

Transportation

Shuttles to the Özyeğin University campus will depart from Swissotel The Bosphorus at 7.45am on July 10.

On the morning of July 10, shuttles will also pick-up attendees from the following hotels and bring them to the Swissotel in time for the 7.45am departure to campus:

Bosphorus Bridge Directions:
After crossing the Bosphorus Bridge, take the Ümraniye-Çamlica-Şile Exit. Stay on the road for Şile for about 23 km. You will see a Ford Dealer on the left side of the road around Taşdelen. Özyeğin University campus is 5 km away on the left. Make a U turn at the next roundabout 2 km away (Ömerli Roundabout) and follow the signs.

Köprü İstikametinden Gelinirse:
Köprüden çıktıktan sonra Ümraniye – Çamlica – Şile sapağından sapınız. Hiçbir yöne sapmadan Şile tabelasını yaklaşık 23 km takip ettikten sonra Taşdelen Mevki’nde, yolun solunda Ford Bayi göreceksiniz. Özyeğin Üniversitesi Kampüsü, Ford’u 5 km geçtikten sonra sol tarafta yer alıyor. Kampüsü geçerek 2 km ilerideki adadan (Ömerli Göbeği) U dönüşü gerçekleştirip yön levhalarını takip ediniz.

Morning Shuttles from Ozyegin University Dorms to Swissotel: 7.00 AM and 8.30 AM

Evening Shuttles from Swissotel to Ozyegin University Dorms: 10.00 PM and 1.00 AM

For planning purposes, please indicate which shuttle you are likely to take each day when you check in.

Accommodation and Airport Transfer

Doctoral students may stay at the university dormitories for an accommodation fee of 50 USD per night (single occupancy, transportation and breakfast included). Doctoral students may extend their stay at the dorms till the end of the conference. To reserve a room for any day between July 9 and 13, please complete the Dormitory Accommodation Form by April 26, 2013.

Shuttle transportation between the conference hotel and the campus dorms will be provided for free. (Please check the shuttle schedule below to make transportation arrangements).

FAQs

Can I pay the registration fee for the Conference early, and pay the Consortium fee later once I know I have been accepted?

Yes, if you pay the Conference fee before March 16 you can take advantage of the ‘early bird fee’. You can then pay the Consortium fee later, once you know you have been accepted. To attend the Consortium you must pay both the Conference fee and the Consortium fee by April 16.

Will there be transportation between my hotel to the Consortium venue?

There will be shuttles between the ‘Swissotel the Bosphorus’ and the Consortium venue. The schedule of the shuttles will be posted later. You can take a taxi from your hotel to the Swissotel and ride the shuttle to the Consortium venue from there.
